Electronics Recycling May 9th

Electronics to recycle in Wisconsin

The following electronics can't be put in the trash in Wisconsin, or sent to Wisconsin landfills and incinerators. These items should be reused, donated or recycled. The Village of Orfordville sets up this event so you can bring any of items to be properly recycled. The event is May 9th from 9-11am and will be held at Village Hall , set up will be behind the building in the parking lot.

  • TVs;

  • computers (desktop, laptop, netbook and tablet computers);

  • Video game system components, such as consoles, that meet the definition of a consumer computer;

  • Desktop printers (including those that scan, fax and/or copy and 3-D printers);

  • Computer monitors;

  • Other computer accessories (including keyboards, mice, speakers, external hard drives and flash drives);

  • DVD players, VCRs and other video players (i.e., DVRs);
    other TV/monitor accessories (including remotes, cable/satellite/streaming receivers, cords and A/V cables, security cameras, and home theater speakers);

  • Fax machines; 

  • Cellphones; and

  • Major appliances, including air conditioners, clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ovens, dehumidifiers, furnaces, boilers, water heaters and microwave ovens.

    Many other types of electronics can also be recycled, especially items like stereo equipment, mp3 players, digital cameras and other hand-held devices. Check with your electronics recycle or collection site for a full list of what they accept. Some websites or stores may also offer small amounts of money if you trade in newer gadgets, like smartphones and tablets. State law prohibits businesses or institutions from disposing of any electronics that contain hazardous materials in municipal solid waste landfills or incinerators. If businesses and institutions do not recycle electronic equipment, they are subject to state solid and hazardous waste management rules and may require licenses from the DNR for transportation and treatment, storage or disposal of the equipment.


Brush Site and Fall Leaf Pickup

The Village of Orfordville, Wisconsin's yard waste site is located Next to the Village Wastewater Treatment Plant on West Brodhead Street.

This yard site is open for the season from 7am -8pm as of March 23, 2026.
